Prolific television creator ("Grey's Anatomy," "Scandal") and author on creativity and empowerment.

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor has been cast as a regular in the forthcoming CBS comedic drama 'Einstein'. She will appear alongside Matthew Gray Gubler, previously announced as the lead, and Melissa Fumero, whose involvement was recently revealed. The narrative revolves around Albert Einstein's exceptionally intelligent yet unconventional great-grandson, portrayed by Gubler. He finds himself compelled to assist a local police detective, played by Fumero, in unraveling intricate criminal investigations after his mischievous conduct leads him into legal trouble.

Ellis-Taylor is slated to embody the character of Captain Frost, depicted as an experienced law enforcement officer anticipating her retirement alongside her partner. Her notable career includes an Academy Award nomination and a Golden Globe nomination for her performance in 'King Richard' in 2022. Additionally, she has garnered two Emmy nominations for her work in 'When They See Us' and 'Lovecraft Country'. Her television credits also encompass roles in ABC's 'Quantico', 'Justified: City Primeval', and '61st Street'.

The series 'Einstein', initially greenlit by CBS in April 2025, experienced a delay, pushing its broadcast to the 2026-2027 season. Following this postponement, original cast member Rosa Salazar departed the project, with Melissa Fumero subsequently stepping into her role. The American adaptation of 'Einstein' is based on a German concept and was developed by Andy Breckman, who also serves as an executive producer alongside Randy Zisk, Michael Rauch, Tariq Jalil, Rose Hughes, Rodrigo Herrera Ibarguengoytia, and Laura Beetz. Matthew Gray Gubler not only stars in the series but also holds a producer credit, with CBS Studios overseeing production.

This casting news highlights the continued collaboration and creative energy within the television industry, bringing together established talent to deliver engaging storytelling. The project exemplifies how compelling narratives can be adapted and reinterpreted for new audiences, fostering a dynamic environment for artistic expression and showcasing diverse performances.
