Linmon Media, a prominent Chinese production entity, has unveiled its extensive content roadmap for 2026-2027 during FilMart Hong Kong. This strategic announcement highlights the company's commitment to both high-quality long-form dramatic series and an aggressive foray into the burgeoning microdrama market. The dual approach is designed to solidify its presence across Asia while simultaneously broadening its international appeal and distribution.
The media landscape is continually evolving, with audiences increasingly drawn to diverse narratives and easily digestible content. Linmon Media recognizes this shift, positioning itself at the forefront of cross-border storytelling. Their recent successes underscore this capability, with four major productions reaching over thirty global platforms. This achievement was supported by streamlined content delivery, comprehensive localization efforts, and robust marketing campaigns tailored to various regions.
A notable triumph for Linmon Media has been "A Dream Within a Dream," which captivated viewers in more than 180 countries and secured a spot among the top five most watched Chinese programs on iQiyi's international service. Following this, "Love Between Lines," released in early 2026, quickly ascended to the number one position in eleven markets and achieved an impressive 8.7 rating on MyDramaList, further demonstrating the company's growing influence.
Looking ahead to 2026, Linmon Media's slate is packed with promising new titles. Among them is "In the Moonlight," a grand historical romance featuring Shang'en Bao and Hongyi Wang. The story follows a princess navigating a political marriage, ultimately finding an unexpected rescuer. Another anticipated release is "Sunshine Through the Rain," a campus drama exploring themes of ambition and financial challenges, resonating with a youthful demographic. The presentation also highlighted "The Heart 2," with returning cast members Mao Xiaotong and Jin Shijia. They emphasized the series' evolution, noting advancements in both professional and emotional aspects of the characters' journeys. Jin specifically mentioned the progression of the characters, reflecting a balance of improvements and new difficulties over time. The company's diverse offerings extend to medical dramas like "Small Town Prescription," starring Zhan Xiao, Dahong Ni, and Yan Jiang, and fantasy adventures such as "The Infinite 10 Days" and "The Legend of Lu Xiaofeng," an adaptation of a classic wuxia novel. Additionally, "Only Thirty Five," a sequel to "Nothing But Thirty," will delve into the career and personal crossroads faced by women. Another historical drama, Li Muge’s "Light Through the Eternal Storm," tells the story of Su Jin, who enters the imperial court disguised as a man to uncover the truth behind her family's persecution. A fantasy-adventure series titled "Li Huowang" is also in development, with its English title yet to be announced.
A significant strategic direction for Linmon Media is its aggressive push into microdramas. Building on the strong performance of eleven microdramas in 2025, particularly in the Thai and Indonesian markets where 80% achieved top-three rankings, the company is now rolling out a new vertical-format lineup. These short-form, mobile-first series are specifically crafted for Asian audiences, prioritizing rapid consumption, shareability, and cultural relevance. Productions will feature local casts and languages, targeting key markets including Korea, Vietnam, the Philippines, Thailand, and Indonesia. To accelerate this initiative, Linmon has formed a strategic alliance with Tinghua Dao, a Chinese short-drama production company. Roy Lu, general manager of Linmon Media International, highlighted the synergy of this partnership, combining Tinghua Dao's extensive library with Linmon's expertise in local production and global distribution to create a unique local-global content ecosystem.
This comprehensive strategy, encompassing both traditional long-form content and innovative microdramas, underscores Linmon Media's adaptability and foresight in a dynamic global entertainment market. The company is actively pursuing opportunities for international collaboration and expansion, ensuring its narratives reach a broad and diverse audience.
