Expanding their impactful 'Cool Girl' initiative, Laura Brown and Kristina O'Neill are set to introduce a comprehensive podcast series titled 'ALL THE COOL GIRLS'. This innovative multimedia franchise, developed in collaboration with In the Arena Studios, follows the significant success of their book, 'All the Cool Girls Get Fired', which was released just six months prior.
These two influential figures, Brown, formerly editor-in-chief at InStyle and executive editor for special projects at Harper's Bazaar, and O'Neill, ex-editor-in-chief of WSJ. Magazine and executive editor at Harper's Bazaar, both navigated unexpected career transitions at the zenith of their professional journeys. Drawing from their shared experiences, the duo ignited a widespread movement, famously encapsulated by their viral social media post: 'All the coolest girls get fired'. This philosophy underpins their new podcast venture.
Brown and O'Neill articulate their vision: "From our initial Instagram post to the publication of 'All the Cool Girls Get Fired' and beyond, we recognized a profound need. It's time to reframe the narrative surrounding job loss, moving away from feelings of insecurity and shame towards embracing ownership and fostering self-discovery. We are eager to collaborate with In the Arena Studios to broaden this vital conversation." Chris Corcoran, founder and chief creative officer of In the Arena Studios, highlights the relevance of their mission, stating, "Laura and Kristina have identified a crucially important and influential goal in a period marked by significant shifts in the employment landscape." The 'ALL THE COOL GIRLS' podcast series, co-created by Brown, O'Neill, and Corcoran, is scheduled to debut this spring as a video series on YouTube and other podcast platforms. It will feature weekly episodes, each exploring distinct themes with prominent guests, and is designed to evolve into a broader content network, including live events and various content pillars, thereby sustaining this timely and essential dialogue.
This new podcast franchise serves as a testament to resilience and the power of narrative to transform challenges into triumphs. By providing a platform for open discussion and shared experiences, Brown and O'Neill are fostering a community where career setbacks are viewed not as endpoints, but as catalysts for profound personal and professional evolution. Their work encourages individuals to embrace change, learn from adversity, and confidently forge new paths, promoting a proactive and optimistic approach to life's inevitable professional shifts.
