A groundbreaking immersive journey, dubbed "The Black Mirror Experience," is poised to captivate audiences in Montreal starting this May. This unique attraction, a collaboration between Banijay Live Studio and VR specialist Univrse, promises to transport participants into the thought-provoking universe of the critically acclaimed television series, merging physical spaces with virtual reality technology to create an unparalleled interactive narrative.

This pioneering venture, born from the creative minds at Banijay Live Studio, marks a significant evolution in location-based entertainment. Guests are invited to step into a meticulously crafted scenario set within 'Phaethon's showroom,' where they encounter 'LifeAgent,' an advanced AI designed to enhance human existence. Initially, the encounter feels effortlessly integrated and comforting, almost ideal, before revealing the unsettling truths characteristic of the 'Black Mirror' world. This 60-minute adventure is meticulously designed for groups of up to six people, aged 12 and above, pushing them to confront choices that reflect the show's dark, satirical exploration of humanity's relationship with technology.

The initiative is a strategic move by Banijay Live, a division of the global production and distribution powerhouse Banijay, to transform its extensive library of intellectual property into dynamic, real-world engagements. François de Brugada, CEO of Banijay Live, emphasizes that this experience aims to extend the screen-based relationship into tangible interactions, allowing fans to step directly into the narratives they admire. Tristan Desplechin of Banijay Live Studio highlights the team's commitment to crafting exclusive, in-person experiences, identifying 'Black Mirror' as an ideal starting point due to its cinematic quality and profound thematic depth. He also notes that the collaboration with Univrse has not only expanded the franchise but also redefined the possibilities within location-based entertainment.

David Bardos, the visionary behind Univrse, proudly states that this project necessitated the development of unprecedented technology within the immersive entertainment sector. He asserts that 'The Black Mirror Experience' establishes a new benchmark for technical innovation, narrative depth, and experiential richness in the industry. The original 'Black Mirror' series, created by Charlie Brooker, has garnered extensive critical acclaim, including numerous Emmy and BAFTA awards across its seven seasons, captivating millions globally with its insightful commentary on technology's impact on society. The series, a Banijay Entertainment format, is currently available on Netflix, continuing to resonate with a vast international audience.

This innovative blend of physical environment and virtual reality is more than just an entertainment offering; it's an invitation to critically engage with the themes that define 'Black Mirror.' By placing participants directly into a narrative that mirrors the show's speculative future, the experience encourages reflection on the digital choices shaping our society. As Banijay Live Studio's inaugural project, it sets a high bar for future endeavors, promising a new era of interactive storytelling where the line between observer and participant blurs, offering a truly unforgettable and thought-provoking journey for all who dare to enter.
