This was followed by similar announcements from other key personnel, including an accessibility test lead involved with the Microsoft Gaming Accessibility Testing Service, who had contributed to evaluating over a thousand Xbox Store titles for accessibility over nearly three years.

Following the formal announcement of the workforce restructuring, the scope of the layoffs became clearer. Notable figures such as Kaitlyn Jones, who played a pivotal role in developing the Xbox Adaptive Joystick and Microsoft's widely available training modules on gaming accessibility, confirmed her departure after five years with the company. Additionally, Elisabeth Whyte, a celebrated senior user researcher in accessibility with an extensive background at ZeniMax, also indicated her exit, highlighting that even game development studios within Xbox were impacted.
