Leading Turkish production company OGM Pictures and renowned Spanish firm Grupo Ganga have formally entered a strategic alliance to co-produce international television series. This significant collaboration marks a concerted effort to merge their unique storytelling approaches and production capabilities, aiming to deliver a diverse range of engaging content to audiences worldwide. The partnership will concentrate on developing a pipeline of series for both traditional broadcasters and major streaming services, signaling an ambitious expansion into the global entertainment landscape.

The agreement between OGM Pictures and Grupo Ganga underscores a shared vision to bridge cultural narratives and production methodologies. OGM Pictures, known for successful Netflix productions like “The Gift” and “The Taylor,” established its international division to pursue such global collaborations. The company recently brought Berna Levin, an experienced executive from YellowBird, on board to head international production, further demonstrating its commitment to cross-border ventures. Similarly, Grupo Ganga brings its extensive track record, including the long-running Spanish series “Remember When,” to the partnership.

This alliance follows OGM Pictures' previous international endeavors, such as its collaboration with Fremantle-owned Wildside and The Apartment, along with Italian indie Fandango, to develop a Turkish adaptation of the acclaimed series “My Brilliant Friend.” The current partnership with Grupo Ganga emphasizes the adaptation of existing intellectual properties from both companies' catalogs, as well as the creation of entirely new content designed specifically for international appeal. This dual approach aims to ensure that the produced series resonate with a broad spectrum of viewers while maintaining local authenticity.

Onur Güvenatam, CEO of OGM Pictures, highlighted that the collaboration is driven by a desire to combine diverse narrative traditions, opening avenues for more intricate and captivating stories. He emphasized the goal of creating content that can transcend geographical boundaries while remaining true to its origins. Miguel Angel Bernardeau, founder and general manager of Grupo Ganga, echoed this sentiment, stating that the union represents a multiplication of creative capacity, enabling both companies to undertake larger and more complex international projects.

The partnership between these two prominent players in the Turkish and Spanish television markets is poised to significantly impact the global TV production landscape. By pooling their creative and logistical resources, OGM Pictures and Grupo Ganga aim to produce high-quality, internationally scalable content that appeals to a diverse global audience. This strategic move is expected to foster innovation in television storytelling and production, setting a new benchmark for cross-cultural collaborations in the entertainment industry.
