Former chief creative officer of Pixar, whose principles of storytelling have shaped modern animation.

Stephen Kalyn, an actor whose career is rapidly ascending, has been announced as a new addition to the cast of Lionsgate's upcoming feature, 'The Housemaid's Secret'. This move follows his notable success in the series 'Off Campus', positioning him for another prominent role in what promises to be a gripping cinematic experience.

From Campus Star to Thriller Enigma: Kalyn's Next Big Screen Venture

The Rising Star's Latest Role

After achieving widespread recognition for his pivotal character in the popular series 'Off Campus', Stephen Kalyn is poised to further cement his status in Hollywood. His latest endeavor sees him joining the esteemed ensemble of Lionsgate's production, 'The Housemaid's Secret', a much-anticipated follow-up to the successful 2025 film, 'The Housemaid'.

An Intriguing Plot Unfolds

Kalyn will be sharing the screen with an impressive lineup of talent, including Sydney Sweeney, Kristen Dunst, Michele Morrone, and Paul Anthony Kelly. The sequel draws its narrative from Freida McFadden's acclaimed novel, continuing the unsettling saga of Millie, portrayed by Sweeney. This time, Millie finds herself in the employ of a mysterious woman she is forbidden to meet, only to uncover a chilling reality behind a forbidden door—a truth potentially more dangerous than her own concealed past. Dunst steps into the shoes of the enigmatic Mrs. Garrick, with Kelly playing Douglas Garrick. Snow takes on the role of Marybeth, a seemingly ordinary receptionist at the Garricks' company, while Morrone reprises his role as Enzo, linking back to the first film's narrative threads.

Kalyn's Character: Brock, the Unknowing Boyfriend

In 'The Housemaid's Secret', Kalyn is cast as Brock, Millie's attorney boyfriend. Unbeknownst to Brock, Millie carries a complex and criminal history, adding a layer of dramatic tension to their relationship. This role is a significant milestone for Kalyn, building on his previous work in projects such as 'Gen V', 'Cruel Intentions', and 'Motorheads'. Furthermore, this film engagement precedes his return as Dean Di Laurentis in the second season of 'Off Campus', where his character, alongside Allie Hayes (played by Mika Abdalla), will take center stage as the show's core couple.

Production Details and Release Schedule

The production phase for 'The Housemaid's Secret' is slated to commence later this year, with a theatrical release date targeted for December 17, 2027. Paul Feig returns to helm the project as director, collaborating once more with screenwriter Rebecca Sonnenshine, who adapted the original novel. Feig is also part of the producing team, alongside Todd Lieberman of Hidden Pictures, Laura Fischer of Pretty Dangerous, and Sweeney under her Honey Trap production company.

The Creative and Executive Team

The production benefits from the continued involvement of Carly Elter from Hidden Pictures, serving as executive producer, alongside Alex Young. Kaylee McGregor from Honey Trap will co-produce the film. Chelsea Kujawa and Maria Ascanio are overseeing the project on behalf of Lionsgate. The acquisition of McFadden's 'Housemaid' novels—a trilogy plus a short story—for adaptation by Lionsgate was facilitated by Robert Melnik.
