In a significant move to bolster South Asian cinema, the South Asian Screen Office of Canada and IFFSA Toronto, alongside Storiculture, have announced the selection of eight feature film projects. These projects will be showcased at the Toronto Film Festival's inaugural market, under the banner of the South Asian Screen Futures initiative. This program is designed to connect these promising films with potential financiers and industry partners.

The chosen lineup boasts an impressive roster of creative minds, including those associated with films that have garnered accolades at major festivals such as Sundance, Cannes, and Toronto. Noteworthy figures involved include Payal Kapadia, director of "All We Imagine as Light"; Neeraj Churi, producer of "Cactus Pears"; and Subhadra Mahajan, the writer-director behind "Second Chance." Their participation underscores the high caliber of talent being presented.
