In the fourth quarter of 2025, Pershing Square made notable adjustments to its investment portfolio, reflecting a strategic repositioning of its assets. The firm's total holdings soared to an impressive $15.53 billion, with a significant portion concentrated in its top three investments: Brookfield, Uber, and Amazon, collectively accounting for about 59% of the portfolio. This period was marked by substantial increases in existing stakes and the introduction of a major new player, while also seeing the complete exit from some long-held positions.

Pershing Square's Strategic Portfolio Evolution in Late 2025

In the final quarter of 2025, renowned investor Bill Ackman's Pershing Square executed several pivotal portfolio maneuvers. The firm substantially boosted its investment in Brookfield (BN), increasing its stake by 50%. Simultaneously, its holding in Amazon (AMZN) saw a robust 65% expansion, underscoring a strong conviction in these companies' future performance. A significant new development was the establishment of a substantial position in Meta Platforms, which immediately constituted 11.37% of the total portfolio, signaling a fresh strategic focus. Conversely, Pershing Square marginally reduced its stake in Uber and completely divested from Chipotle and Hilton, with the latter exit primarily attributed to valuation considerations.

These strategic adjustments come at a time when Pershing Square Holdings (PSH) continues to trade at a noticeable discount to its Net Asset Value (NAV), with shares priced around $56 compared to an NAV of approximately $77. Looking ahead, the firm has announced plans for a dual Initial Public Offering (IPO) for Pershing Square Capital and PSUS, indicating further structural changes and opportunities on the horizon for investors.

This quarter's activities at Pershing Square underscore the dynamic and often bold nature of active investment management. The significant reallocations, particularly the large new bet on Meta and the complete exits from Chipotle and Hilton, suggest a keen eye on evolving market opportunities and valuation discipline. For investors, these moves offer valuable insights into how seasoned managers adapt to market conditions and pursue growth, even as their own investment vehicles navigate valuation discrepancies and plan for future capital market events.
