Netflix is expanding its diverse Korean content library with the announcement of a new romantic comedy film, titled "Messily Ever After." This much-anticipated feature brings together the talents of Kim Min-ha and Noh Sang-hyun, who previously shared the screen in Apple TV+'s acclaimed series, "Pachinko." Their reunion on this project has generated significant buzz within the industry and among fans.

The film, currently in production in Seoul, promises a realistic and insightful portrayal of a contemporary relationship. It charts the journey of college sweethearts, Su-hyun (played by Kim Min-ha) and Hyun-tae (played by Noh Sang-hyun), as their decade-long romance navigates the alternating currents of profound affection and challenging frustrations. Unlike many narratives that focus solely on the initial sparks of love, "Messily Ever After" aims to explore the intricate emotional landscape that evolves after the "honeymoon phase" concludes, shedding light on the enduring mix of devotion, exasperation, longing, and uncertainty inherent in truly knowing another person.

Helmed by emerging filmmaker Seo Jung-min in her feature directorial debut, the project is backed by Bombaram Film, known for its successful youth romance "Love Untangled" and the critically acclaimed "Kim Ji-young, Born 1982." Netflix views this film as part of its ongoing commitment to nurturing new voices in Korean cinema and adding to its ambitious 2026 Korean content slate, which includes a wide array of series, films, and unscripted shows, from star-studded rom-coms to large-scale genre productions and prestigious artistic endeavors.

"Messily Ever After" offers a compelling exploration of lasting love, emphasizing that true connection flourishes not just in idyllic moments, but also through the willingness to confront and navigate life's inevitable complexities together. It encourages viewers to appreciate the depth and resilience found in relationships that evolve beyond initial infatuation, reminding us that shared experiences, both joyful and challenging, ultimately forge stronger bonds and a more profound understanding of companionship.
