Mizuho Securities has reaffirmed its 'Outperform' rating for Block, Inc. (NYSE:XYZ), maintaining a price target of $100. This endorsement stems from a recent analysis of the company's new "Neighborhoods" loyalty program, which shows significant potential to enhance user engagement and drive growth for its Cash App platform. The research indicates strong user interest in the program, suggesting a positive trajectory for Block's financial services offerings.

On July 9, Mizuho conducted a comprehensive survey among Cash App users to gauge the reception and potential impact of the "Neighborhoods" loyalty program. This initiative is designed to reward both Cash App users and merchants, fostering a more integrated ecosystem. The survey results were highly encouraging, with approximately two-thirds of respondents expressing a likelihood or strong likelihood of participating in the program. This high level of anticipated adoption suggests that "Neighborhoods" could become a pivotal tool for increasing user retention and expanding Block's active user base over time.

During Block, Inc.'s first-quarter earnings call, company management underscored the strategic importance of the "Neighborhoods" program. They described it as potentially one of the most impactful levers for the company, possessing the capability to fundamentally alter the scale of their network and accelerate growth. While acknowledging the early stages of the program's rollout, the management expressed optimism about its long-term prospects. Furthermore, they noted a remarkable insight: roughly half of the individuals who have engaged with "Neighborhoods" were not active Cash App users in the month preceding their involvement, indicating the program's effectiveness in reactivating dormant users and attracting new ones.
