Metso has secured a renewed long-term agreement with a prominent mining enterprise in South America. This extended partnership centers on the provision of MX crusher wear components, specifically designed for Nordberg MP1250 crushers. The contract, which is set to run for three years, signifies an annual financial commitment of approximately €10 million (or $11.43 million). This collaboration reinforces Metso's dedication to supporting its original equipment manufacturer (OEM) aftermarket services and strengthens its presence within the South American mining sector.

The core of this agreement involves Metso maintaining a specialized inventory of parts directly at the client's site, ensuring immediate availability to meet operational demands. Furthermore, Metso will provide comprehensive technical assistance, including the deployment of engineering experts and ongoing surveillance of crusher performance and liner wear. These measures are designed to enhance equipment longevity, minimize downtime, and boost overall productivity for the mining company. The initial deliveries under this renewed contract were duly recorded in Metso's Minerals segment's order book during the first quarter of 2026.

Emilio Lamas, Vice-President of Crusher Wears for Metso's South America region, emphasized the company's commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience. He highlighted that this enduring collaboration integrates advanced wear technology with close operational synergy, on-site personnel, and profound application knowledge. This holistic approach guarantees consistent performance, reliability, and safety across the client's mining activities, ultimately fostering mutual value creation.

Supporting this strategic agreement are continuous technological advancements and enhancements aimed at improving equipment efficiency and operational output. Metso's MX wear parts solutions are specifically engineered to prolong component lifespan and decrease the frequency of maintenance interruptions. This directly translates into heightened productivity and a reduction in operational hazards associated with liner replacements. In 2024, Metso expanded its MX solution offerings to encompass large cone crushers within the Nordberg HP Series and MP Series applications, further broadening its market reach and capabilities.

Metso's commitment to innovation extends beyond this agreement, as demonstrated by a recent investment in new mineralogy analysis technology at its research facility in Pori, Finland. This proactive approach to research and development underscores Metso's dedication to providing cutting-edge solutions for the mining industry. This long-term contract solidifies Metso's position as a key supplier in the South American mining landscape, ensuring operational excellence and sustained growth for its partners.
