Jon Beavers, recognized for his performance in the acclaimed series "Paradise," is set to join Emily Deschanel in a new criminal profiling drama pilot for NBC. This series draws inspiration from the pioneering methods of Dr. Ann Burgess, a renowned expert in the field. Adding to the project's talent, Jennifer Morrison has been tapped to direct the pilot episode, signifying a strong creative team behind the forthcoming show.

The pilot focuses on Professor Georgia Ryan, portrayed by Emily Deschanel, a visionary psychologist. Her approach challenges traditional criminology by prioritizing the victim's perspective to uncover crucial investigative insights often overlooked by conventional methods. Working in collaboration with her specialized team, Professor Ryan offers her expertise to the FBI, assisting them in resolving some of their most intricate and elusive criminal cases. This victim-centered methodology promises a fresh and compelling narrative in the crime drama genre.

Beavers will embody the character of Will Andover, described as a once-promising profiler from Quantico whose career took an unexpected turn. Now facing a critical juncture in his professional life, Andover is desperate for a success to revitalize his standing. His role is poised to add depth and a layer of personal struggle to the series' investigative dynamics, as he works alongside Professor Ryan to navigate complex criminal puzzles.

Beyond his current role as Billy Pace in Hulu's popular series "Paradise," Beavers has also recently appeared in the Oscar-nominated film "One Battle After Another." His television credits extend to notable shows such as "Animal Kingdom," "Bel-Air," and "Sugar." In the realm of feature films, he has been featured in "Horizon: Chapters 1 & 2" and "Licorice Pizza," showcasing his versatile acting career. His representation includes Artium Talent, Untitled Entertainment, and Gang, Tyre, Ramer.

The pilot's creative leadership includes Dean Georgaris and John Fox as both writers and executive producers. John Davis is also on board as an executive producer through Davis Entertainment. Emily Deschanel will take on a dual role as both lead actress and producer. Dr. Ann Burgess, whose real-life work inspires the series, and Steve Constantine are serving as consulting producers. Jennifer Morrison will contribute to the project as an executive producer in addition to her directing duties. Universal Television is producing the pilot.

The casting of Jon Beavers was initially reported by Deadline, highlighting the industry's interest in this promising new drama. With a strong ensemble cast, an innovative premise, and experienced directors and producers, the pilot aims to bring a fresh perspective to the crime procedural genre, emphasizing psychological insights and victimology.
