Igniting the UK: A New Era for Hot Chicken Enthusiasts

Strategic Alliance Forged for International Growth

The U.S.-based fast-casual restaurant, Houston TX Hot Chicken, has officially formed a master franchise agreement with PizzaExpress to facilitate its entry into the United Kingdom. This collaboration is a pivotal step in HHC's global expansion strategy, leveraging PizzaExpress's extensive market knowledge and operational infrastructure within the UK.

Ambitious Launch and Expansion Plans in the UK

Under the terms of the agreement, Houston TX Hot Chicken plans to open three new locations across the UK by 2026. This initial launch is just the beginning, with the partnership envisioning a rapid expansion to 50 sites nationwide over the following three years, demonstrating a strong commitment to establishing a significant presence in the British market.

Leadership Perspectives on the Milestone Partnership

Brian Simowitz, President of HHC, expressed profound enthusiasm for this international milestone, emphasizing the unique strengths each partner brings to the table. He highlighted HHC's expertise in fried chicken and PizzaExpress's unparalleled understanding of the UK market, positioning the venture for success in delivering an exciting new culinary experience to UK consumers.

PizzaExpress's Vision for Portfolio Diversification

Paula MacKenzie, CEO of PizzaExpress Group, shared her excitement about integrating HHC into their brand portfolio. With nearly 500 restaurants already operating across the UK and Ireland, PizzaExpress sees HHC as a distinctive addition that will introduce bold flavors, vibrant energy, and a unique dining experience to the UK's diverse food scene.

HHC's Impressive Domestic Trajectory and Menu Innovations

Since its inception in 2021, HHC has rapidly grown its footprint across nine U.S. states, boasting over 100 franchise units sold domestically. This growth has been fueled by investment from Savory Fund, a private equity firm specializing in restaurant concepts. HHC's menu is celebrated for its diverse range, including signature hot chicken sandwiches, tenders, nuggets, fries, and waffles, complemented by a variety of unique sauces.

Global Aspirations and Continued Growth

The venture into the UK marks HHC's inaugural international expansion, building on its robust domestic success. Earlier this year, the brand secured 26 new franchise agreements, further solidifying its growth trajectory within the United States, even as it sets its sights on broader global markets.
