A new documentary, "Gonzaga: The Slipper Still Fits," is poised to captivate audiences with the inspiring journey of the Gonzaga Bulldogs men's basketball team. This feature-length film, scheduled for a March 6 debut as a Tubi Original, chronicles the transformation of a modest collegiate program into a formidable national contender under the visionary leadership of head coach Mark Few. The documentary promises an in-depth look at the team's relentless pursuit of excellence, featuring insights from key figures who shaped its storied history.

The film delves into how Coach Few meticulously built the Gonzaga program, defying expectations and establishing it as a consistent force in the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, famously known as March Madness. Viewers will gain unique perspectives from notable personalities, including Coach Few himself, NBA coaching stalwart Steve Kerr, and a roster of distinguished Gonzaga alumni such as John Stockton, Adam Morrison, Chet Holmgren, Andrew Nembhard, Jalen Suggs, and Domantas Sabonis. Their testimonies illuminate the dedication and collective spirit that define the Bulldogs' success.

"Gonzaga: The Slipper Still Fits" is a production of Thomas Tull, through Teton Ridge Entertainment and Words and Pictures. The executive production team comprises Jillian Share, Josh Miller, Connor Schell, Jonathan Hock, Libby Geist, Alexa Conway, and Angela T. O’Neal. The agreement for the documentary's release was negotiated by Miller and Jessica McCourt on behalf of Teton Ridge Entertainment, with Ian Nelson representing Tubi, highlighting a strategic partnership aimed at bringing compelling sports narratives to a wider audience.

The documentary's evocative title is a direct homage to a memorable moment in Gonzaga basketball history. It refers to an iconic declaration by announcer Gus Johnson during the team's unexpected deep run in the 1999 March Madness tournament, where he exclaimed, "The slipper still fits!" This phrase perfectly encapsulates the team's identity as a perennial underdog that consistently outperforms expectations. Gonzaga's impressive track record includes reaching the national championship games in both 2017 and 2021, further solidifying their legacy as a program built on resilience and an unwavering belief in their potential.

This film underscores the power of sports narratives to transcend the athletic arena, offering broader cultural resonance. It celebrates the spirit of overcoming adversity and achieving greatness regardless of one's origins, a theme that Teton Ridge Entertainment aims to champion in its productions. The collaboration between Tubi and Teton Ridge Entertainment continues to deliver impactful stories, following their recent success with "The Moment," a documentary focusing on women's college basketball, demonstrating their commitment to diverse and engaging sports content.

This exclusive Tubi release stands as a testament to the enduring appeal of the Gonzaga Bulldogs' narrative, showcasing their evolution from a collegiate dark horse to a recognized powerhouse. The documentary provides an intimate glimpse into the dedication, strategic prowess, and raw talent that have propelled the team to national prominence, making it a must-watch for basketball enthusiasts and anyone inspired by stories of triumph against the odds.
