Felix Solis has officially joined the cast of the anticipated 'Rockford Files' reboot pilot on NBC. This new series aims to bring a fresh perspective to the classic detective drama, focusing on the character of James Rockford as he navigates the complexities of private investigation in Los Angeles after a wrongful conviction. Solis's addition, alongside other talented actors, signals a strong ensemble for what promises to be an engaging revival.

Felix Solis Cast as Nitty in 'Rockford Files' Reboot Pilot

In a recent announcement on March 18, 2026, Felix Solis was confirmed to be joining the cast of the 'Rockford Files' reboot pilot for NBC. He is set to play the character Nitty, described as the titular character James Rockford's closest friend. Nitty, in a significant character arc, has transformed his life to become a respected defense attorney in South Los Angeles, dedicated to fostering positive change within his community. Solis will be sharing the screen with previously announced lead actor David Boreanaz, and fellow cast members Michaela McManus and Jacki Weaver.

This casting marks a notable reunion for Solis, as it is his third project with both David Boreanaz and Michaela McManus, following their work together on the military drama 'SEAL Team', where Solis played Colonel Martinez in its second season. Solis brings a wealth of experience from his diverse roles in television and film, including appearances in popular series such as 'The Rookie', 'The Rookie: Feds', 'Ozark', 'The Recruit', 'Charmed', and 'Sirens'. His film credits include 'The Friend', 'Unfrosted', 'Tallulah', 'New York Story', and 'Man on a Ledge'.

The reboot pilot, penned by writer and executive producer Mike Daniels, centers on James Rockford (portrayed by Boreanaz), a private investigator recently paroled after serving time for a crime he did not commit. Utilizing his charm and keen intellect, Rockford works to solve cases across Los Angeles. However, his efforts to legitimize his life quickly put him in conflict with both local law enforcement and organized crime syndicates. Carl Beverly and Sarah Timberman are also serving as executive producers, with Chris Leanza as co-executive producer. Boreanaz is not only starring but also producing the pilot, which is being directed and executive produced by Greg Mottola. Universal Television is the studio behind this project.

The casting of Felix Solis adds a compelling layer to the 'Rockford Files' reboot, suggesting a dynamic interplay of characters rooted in deep personal histories. His portrayal of Nitty, a reformed individual dedicated to justice, offers a fascinating contrast and complement to James Rockford's own journey. This revival has the potential to resonate with both long-time fans of the original series and a new generation of viewers, exploring themes of redemption, justice, and the challenges of navigating a morally ambiguous world.
