“Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle,” one of 2025’s highest-grossing cinematic achievements, is extending its exhibition in Japanese theaters. Following its initial IMAX debut, the acclaimed anime feature is now slated for ScreenX and 4DX presentations, commencing February 20. This expansion into multi-screen and immersive motion formats represents a historic milestone for the franchise, offering audiences an unprecedented viewing experience. ScreenX technology projects the film across three screens, creating an expansive, panoramic vista that enhances immersion during pivotal moments, making “Infinity Castle” the first anime to adopt this innovative display method.

While the advanced ScreenX and 4DX engagements are currently exclusive to Japan and the Philippines, there are strong indications that these unique cinematic experiences may eventually reach global audiences. Speculation abounds regarding potential limited runs in international theaters equipped with these specialized formats, and regions lacking ScreenX or 4DX infrastructure might instead witness a traditional IMAX re-release. This strategic theatrical rollout underscores the film’s immense popularity and its ambition to deliver diverse viewing options to fans worldwide.

“Infinity Castle” first premiered in Japan on July 18, 2025, quickly establishing a remarkable box office record by accumulating over 25 billion yen (approximately $174 million USD) within its first 31 days. Its domestic triumph was succeeded by a successful international launch on August 14, culminating in a North American release on September 12. Globally, the film has amassed over $600 million, solidifying its status as a commercial powerhouse. This movie is the inaugural installment of a three-part series designed to bring the manga adaptation of “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba,” penned by Koyoharu Gotoge and serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump, to its compelling conclusion.

The extraordinary success of “Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle” exemplifies the vibrant and expansive reach of animated storytelling. Its innovative use of cutting-edge cinema technology, coupled with a captivating narrative, demonstrates the limitless possibilities within the entertainment industry to enchant and inspire audiences globally. The film’s achievement serves as a testament to the power of artistic vision and technological advancement in creating truly immersive and memorable cultural experiences.
