Culpeo Minerals has substantially enlarged its operational territory in Chile, acquiring an additional 24 exploration licenses that encompass 2,809 hectares. This strategic expansion represents a 45% increase in the company's landholdings, bringing its total area in the country to 9,033 hectares and solidifying its presence in key copper-gold rich zones, particularly around its Lana Corina and Fortuna projects.
The newly secured licenses comprise five exploration permits covering 793 hectares at Lana Corina and an additional 19 permits extending over 2,016 hectares at Fortuna. These areas are now being integrated into Culpeo Minerals' ongoing exploration initiatives, which include comprehensive geological mapping, rock-chip sampling, and channel sampling. These activities are critical for pinpointing and ranking prime locations for future drilling operations. Furthermore, significant progress is being made at the Fortuna Project, where an induced polarisation survey is currently underway across approximately 24 linear kilometers, specifically targeting known copper-gold mineralisation to gather essential subsurface data on chargeability and resistivity.
The insights garnered from this survey, combined with data from previous mapping, trenching, geochemistry, magnetic surveys, and drilling, will play a crucial role in refining and prioritizing future exploration efforts. Diamond drilling is also actively proceeding at the El Quillay South prospect, with initial assay results anticipated by August 2026. This concerted exploration drive underscores Culpeo Minerals' dedication to establishing a prominent, district-scale copper-gold portfolio in Chile, with new acquisitions strategically placed to leverage existing geological models and enhance exploration efficiency.
This significant expansion of landholdings demonstrates a forward-thinking approach to resource development and growth. By strategically increasing its footprint in a mineral-rich region like Chile, Culpeo Minerals is laying a robust foundation for future success and contributing to the global supply of essential minerals. This proactive engagement in exploration and development fosters innovation and highlights a commitment to responsible resource management, ultimately driving economic prosperity and technological advancement.
