Embark on a crucial adventure in Crimson Desert as you tackle the interwoven quests of "Mystical Key" and "Polar Opposites." Following a victory in the Hernand tavern's arm wrestling and assisting villagers with their chimney, your journey takes a mysterious turn. You're entrusted with an enigmatic key, tasked with unveiling a clandestine chamber within Hernand Castle. Subsequently, you'll delve into the Abyss, where the formidable Axiom Force ability becomes essential for manipulating intricate dials and completing electrical circuits. This guide will illuminate each step, ensuring a smooth progression through these pivotal Chapter 1 challenges.

The path forward requires both keen observation and the skillful application of newfound powers. Successfully navigating these quests not only advances the narrative but also introduces you to fundamental game mechanics, such as fast travel points and the versatile Axiom Force. Prepare to explore hidden passages, decipher ancient mechanisms, and confront the otherworldly challenges of the Abyss, bringing you closer to mastering the world of Crimson Desert.

Unlocking Hernand Castle's Secrets with the Mystical Key

Upon aiding the villagers with their chimney, you'll acquire the Engraved Key, initiating the "Mystical Key" quest. The initial step involves closely examining this key within your inventory to discern its unique properties. Next, don the Hernandian Attire obtained from a previous quest, allowing you unhindered entry into Hernand Castle. Your objective is to locate a specific locked door within the castle's depths that only your new key can open. This segment of the journey emphasizes exploration and the proper use of quest items to advance.

To pinpoint the exact location of the door, navigate through the castle's initial gate, then proceed through the second gate into the inner keep. Once inside the main building, ascend the stairs to your right. At the top, make another right turn. The first door you encounter on your left will be the one requiring the Engraved Key. After unlocking it, make sure to retrieve the Faded Abyss Artifact from the chest within, an item vital for respecializing your character's abilities. Finally, step into the portal, transporting you to the mysterious Abyss.

Mastering Axiom Force and Conquering Polar Opposites

Upon your arrival in the Abyss, the "Polar Opposites" quest begins with the directive to activate the Abyss Nexus. This is achieved by stepping onto the glowing pad directly before you, a critical action as these pads serve as fast travel points throughout the game. As you traverse the cobbled path leading to the distant structure, a benevolent white crow bestows upon you the potent Axiom Force ability, a new power essential for overcoming the challenges ahead. This ability allows for interaction with the environment in unique ways, setting the stage for complex puzzles.

To effectively utilize Axiom Force, press and hold the designated button (Tab or L3) to target the discs embedded in the floor. Release the button to tether the force to these discs. The on-screen prompts will then guide you to manipulate these discs by pushing and pulling them, aligning them to complete a circuit of blue light. Successful alignment will activate the circuit, causing the door to open and grant you passage. With this challenge overcome, your final task in Chapter 1 is to complete the "Abyss Without Balance" quest, marking a significant milestone in your Crimson Desert journey.
