ALPLA, a prominent player in the global packaging and recycling sector, has inaugurated its maiden standalone production facility in Calamba City, Philippines. This significant investment bolsters the company's footprint in the burgeoning Asia-Pacific market, allowing it to cater to a broad spectrum of clients, including multinational consumer goods companies, beverage manufacturers, and local enterprises. The cutting-edge plant, operational since mid-2025, is equipped with advanced technologies for manufacturing plastic containers, bottles, and closures, underscoring ALPLA's commitment to delivering integrated system solutions and upholding global quality benchmarks.

The newly established plant in Calamba City spans an impressive 4,800 square meters, meticulously allocated for production, administrative functions, and logistics. This extensive space facilitates efficient operations and future growth. The facility's technological prowess is evident in its use of injection stretch blow moulding (ISBM), extrusion blow moulding (EBM), and compression moulding (CM) techniques, enabling the creation of a diverse product portfolio. Initially, the plant commenced with four production lines, with provisions for an additional five, demonstrating its scalability and capacity to meet evolving market demands. This move marks a transition from ALPLA's previous operational model in the Philippines, where it functioned as an in-house partner since 2014, manufacturing preforms and bottles directly at client filling sites.

A formal inauguration ceremony, held on March 19, marked this momentous occasion. The event was graced by key ALPLA executives, including Chief Operating Officer Walter Ritzer and Asia-Pacific Managing Director Ronald Tichelaar, alongside Christian Kotschy, who heads ALPLA Philippines, and other distinguished guests. Ritzer emphasized the strategic importance of this investment, highlighting its role in strengthening ALPLA's regional presence and positioning the company as a crucial partner for both local and international clientele. Tichelaar echoed this sentiment, underscoring the immense potential of the Philippine market and ALPLA's ambition to distinguish itself through comprehensive system solutions, vertical integration, and efficient, reliable production.

The Calamba City facility currently employs a dedicated team of approximately 40 individuals, contributing to local economic development and fostering skilled labor. This expansion in the Philippines follows ALPLA's continuous efforts in innovation and sustainability. In December of the previous year, ALPLA received governmental support in the Netherlands for a groundbreaking recycling operation. This initiative focuses on utilizing a solvent-based process to produce food-grade recycled high-density polyethylene (HDPE), with pilot tests currently underway at the National Test Centre Circular Plastics in Heerenveen. Such endeavors reflect ALPLA's holistic approach to packaging, integrating advanced manufacturing with a strong commitment to environmental responsibility and circular economy principles.

The launch of this state-of-the-art manufacturing hub in the Philippines signifies a major milestone for ALPLA, reinforcing its global leadership in the packaging industry. This strategic move is set to enhance production capabilities, expand market reach, and foster stronger client relationships within the dynamic Asia-Pacific region, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, innovative packaging solutions.
