Researchers observed that when presented with general cultural queries, several prominent large language models, including Claude, Gemini, and DeepSeek, consistently exhibited a significant emphasis on Japan in their outputs. The study, carried out by academics from the University of the Basque Country and Cardiff University, delved into the cultural leanings of AI by posing a diverse range of over 30,000 culturally relevant questions across 24 languages.
